New techniques make it possible to intervene without resorting to surgery

The double chin is one of the most common intestinal problems among overweight people, but to eliminate which, nowadays, there are multiple therapies. Basically, it is an accumulation of fat in the anterior part of the neck and therefore has nothing to do with the actual chin, nor with related problems such as the prominent or receding chin.

To eliminate the double chin there are various approaches, to be evaluated on the basis of the patient. One of the increasingly popular methods is that of injections of deoxycholic acid, a substance capable of dissolving the membrane of fat cells and therefore eliminating the double chin in a short time. The area becomes red at first, but within a couple of weeks it returns to normal and without the accumulation of fat.

In case of poor skin elasticity, the result may not be pleasant, because the skin may remain sagging. Therefore, it is better to prefer fractional radiofrequency, which produces a sort of controlled damage to the skin, eliminates fat, and then produces new collagen. Finally, if the amount of sagging skin is really large, all that remains is the surgical operation.
